Getting Into Bhutan
The best way to reach Bhutan is by air. The only international airport in Bhutan is in Paro and it is called Paro International Airport. It is around 7 kms from the city. It has connecting flights from various cities such as Mumbai and Guwahati
By Road
Entry or exit is also possible through Phuntsholing, the southern Bhutanese border town. From here the nearest airport is Baghdogra in West Bengal(India). Exit from Bhutan can be also made through Samdrup Jongkhar, an important link for visiting further Northeastern states of India.
Bhutan Visa
All foreigners, other than Indian, Bangladeshis and Maldivian nationals, visiting Bhutan must have a valid visa clearance letter issued by the Department of Immigration of Bhutan prior to their departure for Bhutan. They are required to produce a copy of the visa clearance letter issued by the Department of Immigration, Bhutan, at the time of check-in. The Initial reference letter issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not valid for Travel.
The Immigration Department does not issue visa until the full tour payment is being made to the concerned account and without visa clearance the DRUK AIR will not board the flight.
Best time to visit Bhutan
